About us at TOPGEAR Instructor Training

Daniel Harrison, ADI, ORDIT, FLEET
Proprietor and Principal Trainer TOPGEAR TRAINING SERVICES LTD

Danny qualified as an ADI in 1992 after 8 years spent working in sales and in the licensed trade.
TopGear School of Motoring was set up by him and alongside his wife Bev has been built up over 15 years to become the largest independent driving school in South Cumbria. In 1993 Danny passed the DSA Cardington Special Driving Test for ADI’s and went on to gain experience in driver training receiving ADI Grade 6 twice. Danny decided at this point that there was room for expansion within his business and began instructor training.

TopGear School of Motoring currently has eleven instructors and ten of these have been trained by Danny to his high standard. Danny has trained many more instructors over the past few years and with his personal commitment and training structured to the individual needs has produced a very high pass rate of over 90 % .

In 2002 Danny was one of the first instructors to gain entry onto the new DSA Fleet Register after passing his fleet instructor qualification with System Group Ltd of Carlisle.

Danny has used this and his ORDIT qualification to provide contract work for national companies, delivering defensive driver training programmes and risk
assessments for both car and mini bus drivers as well as ADI training.

Danny has undergone a training program to deliver SAFED (safe and fuel efficient driving) instruction and provides courses to businesses throughout the UK.

Alongside running his own business TOPGEAR Training Services Ltd and contracting for national companies, Danny has been the locally appointed risk assessor and examiner for Hackney Carriage driving tests in the borough of Barrow in Furness for the past 11 years
